Hospice Care > Bereavement Services

Bereavement counselors offer guidance, support and hope to individuals and families as they struggle with loss. VNA Hospice bereavement services begin in preparing families and caregivers for the loss of a loved one and may continue for up to one year after the death. Counselors maintain contact with families through visits, telephone calls, notes and newsletters.

Support Groups
The loss of a loved one can leave survivors angry, lost, confused or depressed. VNA Hospice bereavement support groups help survivors understand and work through these stages of grief and adjust to life without their loved one, while sharing thoughts and experiences with others in similar circumstances.

Community Involvement
VNA Hospice sponsors bereavement seminars, youth camps, workshops and teleconferences at sites throughout Indian River County. These forums offer information, guidance and assistance to the community about understanding the grieving process and preparing for or experiencing a loss. Our counselors also offer bereavement support to schools, businesses or other groups in need of counseling following a death.
